Qatar Social Work is an organization that oversees eight specialized social centers in Qatar.

This presentation highlights the role of technology in the social work sector and especially during Covid-19 and its importance to social workers and beneficiaries. Technology plays a role in cross cutting themes such as achieving accessibility for people with disability and the blind, protecting women and children against violence and promoting active aging in the community. Thus, the presentation will highlight the role of Qatar social work and its centers in promoting empowerment and inclusion in the community. It will address the challenges that are facing social workers and practitioners in the field in regard to the existing limitation of technology. In addition, it will highlight examples of how social centers used technology to achieve their targets such as digital applications for protecting women and children against violence in Qatar and electronic learning for the elderly. Finally, the presentation will highlight final recommendations regarding the role of technology in social sector.
